Eternity Station
The thin lines seen on the Axis map (those surrounding the Blast Void) are burst tracks. Some still work, though most have become damaged and dangerously unstable. Eternity station is the last working teleportation terminal, and it is well protected.
"The Transit Processor, that's what it's called. It's the station computer, and it won't even let you inside unless you have a special access key. I tried to find a way inside the place, but everything is sealed by thick doors or bars of that black, magic-resistant metal. I doubt you could even phase past these barriers." - Haxle
The Transit Processor is another extension of the City Mind, a much more simple thinking machine dedicated to the operation of the complex teleportation grid. Her voice is soft and pleasant, almost vapid. She will politely inform all visitors that access to the inner terminal is restricted without an authorization key.
"Travellers, welcome to Eternity Station. This facility is currently closed to the public. Teleportation grids are offline. We apologize for this inconvenience. If you are military personel, access will be granted upon presentation of a valid level five access key. Long live the Creator Empire." - Mysterious Voice
There is one remaining level five access card in all of Rym, and it hangs around the Decider's neck.
With access to the teleportation grid and level five clearance, PCs can move instantly to several remote or otherwise inaccessible areas, such as the interior of the City Mind's vault, as well as the bunker complexes of both AI tactical war computers, and the underwater weather-control sttion, Aquablue. There is no complicated exposed equipment within the station; the Transit Processor simply offers destinations and guides travellers to the telepads though a series of bulsing blue lights. Once selected, teleportation is instantaneous and automatic.
The Transit Processor will always announce a burst track instability warning, along with the chances of teleportation failure, whenever a destination is selected. Up to ten M sized creatures can be transported in a single jump, and each jump requires ten minutes of re-calibration. In the event of a teleportation failure, the de-materialized character or characters become lost or jammed in the burst tracks, resulting not only in death but complete destruction of the physical body as well. Only a carefully worded 'Wish' could bring back anyone lost in this manner.
