Iron Bay

So named for the vast number of strange metal shipwrecks in these shallow waters, Iron Bay is the final resting place of the Tamaran imperial fleet. It was these mighty warships that held their own against the forces of the ocean goddess, eventually overcoming a veritable armada of mythical beasts. Among the wrecked ships lie the bones of sea dragons, reef serpents, and even a leviathan, all victims of the senseless Twilight War. The imperial fleet didn't fare much better, suffering the near-total losses that now blanket the ocean floor. Most of these vessels were actually a curious cross between boat and airframe, able to travel at speeds in excess of five hundred miles an hour by riding the cussion of air just above the water's surface, though there are several that once carried flying machines and enormous cannons. All are rusting, but untouched by growth, owing to the nature of the water surrounding the wrecks.

Like the surface of Axis, the the bay harbors no life. The ocean here is poisoned with radiation and chemicals still seeping from the sunken fleet, and even the simplest and hardiest of organisms die quickly. If one is foolish enough to enter the water and descend to the wrecks with protective items or spells, they will find a haunting underwater landscape of ruined carriers and cruisers, as well as veritable drifts of bleached bones. Here, beneath the poisoned waves, great weapons and artifacts of the forgotten era lie buried beneath grey sediment. Most have long-since fallen to pieces from age and corrosion, though one never knows when they'll run across a working proximity mine or a live shell waiting to go off. There are also a small number of working components that could be used to repair Machines, such as K-00's damaged flight engines. Unfotunately, figuring out how to salvage, recondition, and mount such parts would be almost impossible for anyone without advanced technical skills.
