Personality : Joven used to be the king of Tamara. She used to have it all. She was by far the most evil, the most cunning, the most deadly predator to stalk the island chain. When Sin was first being built, the young black dragon challenged the Decider, and lost. At the end of the battle, one of Joven's wings was severed, and the crippled dragon was spared by the Decider simply so she could endure the humiliation of her defeat, and the loss of her wing. Joven isn't quite so evil anymore. Suffice to say, she's a sort of garden-variety, half-assed evil, moping about her cave and keeping a dismal journal of black poetry and hopeless reflections. She will occasionally spare her prey if they listen to her bitter story, or her poetry (the poetry is better than the bitterness).
Treasure Hoard : Joven had a pretty big treasure horde before her defeat, though it's a little dusty now. She hasn't had the self-esteem to rob anyone for a long time.

There is a type of carnivorous plant that hunts the Mantlewood. It is found nowhere else on Rym, as it seems to have adapated somehow to the living patterns of the island's inhabitants in specific. It eats slavers. This strange carnivorous dryad attracts its prey by imitating the shape of a beautiful, helpless slave girl and wandering the woods as if lost. Slave trackers from the city have a relatively easy time finding this creature, at which point it assumes its true form and devours the 'hunters'. If it isn't especially hungry, it will do something even worse. It will allow itself to be captured and enclosed in an area with many other slaves, and then devour the caged prey at its leisure. The slavers hate aon trees, and consequently they are more often referred to as 'Fuckwood'.

Combat: The aon tree attacks only in its true form, that of a tentacled, plant-like monstrosity. Four of these slimy tentacles are particularly long, used to grasp at prey and cover them with narcotic enzymes. It can attack up to four man sized targets or two L sized targets every round. On the round after a successful tentacle strike, two things begin to happen. First the tendril will begin to crush an opponent, inflicting 2d10 points of damage per round. Second, it will begin to smother its prey in a clear narcotic slime. The enzyme slowly saps the strength of any living creature caught by the plant, draining one point of strength per round as it softens bones and muscle for digestion. If only one or two targets are present, multiple tendrils may strike the same target (the damage and strength loss is cumulative). Anyone caught by these tentacles may attempt to break free once per round, using a bend bars/lift gates roll. Lost strength returns at a rate of one point per turn.
Habitat/Society: Aon trees have no real society to speak of. They are capable of polymorphing themselves in nearly any humanoid race, and may remain in this form for up to a week. They are dimly intelligent, but seem too alien to relate to or communicate with in any way other than mimicry. These predators aren't territorial, though they never work together. Aon trees regenerate at a rate of 1 HP per round, and will regrow from death unless the root is burned. Consequently, the Tamarans see them as very dangerous weeds. Their method of reproduction is unknown.
Ecology:: This plant might have been the creation of some vengeful druid, or even some sort of alien monster. It eats slaves and slavers alike. In their humanoid disguises, they are quiet and childish, with eerily blank eyes. Transition from prey to predator is instantaneous; the disguise bursts open in a flood of tentacles (surprise roll -4) that immediately snatch at the nearest targets. Creatures killed by the aon tree are slowly smothered in acidic slime and absorbed by the many lower tentrils. Only metal or mineral items are left undigested by these creatures, though they have no need for treasure. All they ever want to do is eat.
