Toading is the process of turning a character into and object so they may be recycled. It is called such historically in reference to wizards turning people into toads, and has been in various TinyMucks and Muds for over a decade.

How people get Toaded on Tapestries MUCK:

1. By user request. See the command @toadme #help, it will explain the process. The process requires a 24 hour cooling off period before the request will be processed. This has saved many people from removing themselves in the heat of the moment and having to reregister their character, and rebuild their homes.

2. By inactive purges. To keep the DB smaller, characters that are unused for an extended period of time are periodically purged from the database. (see policy purge)

3. By abusive actions on the part of the players, not limited to violations of the policies. While we try and provide good guidelines in the policies, they are not all inclusive.
