@renameme

Overview

The @renameme command is used to rename your character. The basic muck @name command is disabled for players on Tapestries; @renameme allows you to do this. The reason for a different command is to enforce extra checks to prevent abuse - see the Notes section. It requires a new valid name, and your current password.

Syntax

@renameme <newname>=<password>

Example: @renameme MyNewName=MyPassword

Notes

• After renaming, you will have to log into the Muck with your new name.
• ... Or your dbref.
• You can only rename once a week.
• If you pick a name and later regret it, you will have to wait a week to change it! So choose wisely.
• It will be announced to the room when you rename yourself.
