Pose is a simple built-in command for MUCKs. Its purpose is to depict an action. It is most commonly abbreviated to ':' (a single colon).

Syntax

For the purpose of the command lines entered, please assume the player entering the command is named Player.

Command line:
pose wanders into the room, bows, and says 'Hello,' before wandering off.
Result:
Player wanders into the room, bows, and says 'Hello,' before wandering off.
Command line:
:tapdances on the ceiling!
Result:
Player tapdances on the ceiling!

Usage notes

The pose command is a core command for any MUCK as far as basic interaction with others is concerned. Many MUCK-defined commands and the Say command can be replaced with pose, though in many cases it's more efficient for the MUCK to define the commands separately.
