While visiting Japan, Kuan threw a half-eaten hot dog into a trash can. Thinking it was an offering a young Kitsune... a Fox Spirit... accepted the offering to become Kuan's Familiar.

Unfortunately Kuan isn't a Magic user so a familiar is useless to her. Kuan decided to adopt the Kitsune instead.

Later, when the Kitsune was accidently sent to Canada she came back with a skunk that Kuan also adopted.

Kuan works at a small Casino in Dayton, Nevada.

She is a Siamese cat.
