needed a whole pile of maps, of course, in order to create a unique world for these cultures to populate. Each map was hand-drawn using colored pencil and ink on bristol. Once scanned, the needed text was added by computer, then converted to an image map. This allows you to simply click on any point within the map to call up a corresponding HTML document, which may contain further links and illustrations within itself. These maps can be found in the 'World' section of the main page.

While all this might seem a little excessive, it has a purpose. With all the maps complete, and all the loose ends tied, there is an almost endless supply of modules, stories, and pictures ready for developement. With the foundations built, continuity is easy to maintain. However, so as not to be overly rigid, most creative details have been left out of the framework so as to allow storytellers to customize as they see fit, to add characters, struggles, and events.

Rym's landscape is lush and surreal, a contrast of fantastic beauty and dark ruin. Wide tropical seas, vast rainforests, crater-scarred badlands, and the magnificent ruins of a fallen civilisation are but a few of the venues to explore. Each region includes a detail of its native flora and fauna, as well as the occasional set of footnotes donated by guides and explorers. Originally, the details included the RPG tables needed to generate random encounters and weather, and I've left these in to keep with the spirit adventure and danger.Who knows what you'll run into out there?
